The opportunity
An exciting opportunity now exists within a non-profit organisation based in Hobart for a Health and Safety Advisor, on a permanent full-time basis. Perfect for someone looking to elevate their safety career by working within a high performing, supportive team. 
This role will be responsible for contributing to the organisational wide WHS management and strategy system within Tasmania. This role has flexible working arrangements available and can be done partially from home with some travel to sites around Hobart. 
About the role: 
The role reports to the HSE Manager and sits within a team of 5 health and safety professionals nationally. 

  • Carry out health and safety investigations, audits and inspections 
  • Identifying and implementing risk mitigation strategies 
  • Coach, train and provide advice to workers on WHS requirements and risk management 
  • Collaborate with senior management to adhere to legislative requirements. 
  • Effectively liaise with relevant stakeholders 

Skills and requirements: 

  • Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation 
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills 
  • Previous experience in a similar level role (flexible on sector)
  • Capability to provide WHS advice to all levels of staff 
  • Formal qualifications in safety (Cert IV/Diploma minimum)
